Track record in sustainable development

In 2013 Richard re-established active consultancy services after his role as Acting Chief Executive and Reuse Co-ordinator for Cylch: Community Resource Cymru following development of new business strategies in line with Welsh Government policy on sustainable resource management and aligned with circular economy principles.

Richard previously worked as Assistant Director with the community action charity Sustainable Wales between 2002 and 2007, and remains as a volunteer trustee and current Chair. Between 2007 and 2009, as a Sustainable Development Practitioner for Bangor University’s Synnwr Busnes-Business Sense programme, he supported SME’s in Wales with ‘Sustainability Healthchecks’.

Richard has a degree in Philosophy, an IOSH Certificate in ‘Managing the Environment’, has undertaken Environmental Studies with the Open University, is qualified to teach Education for Sustainable Development & Global Citizenship to adult audiences, has studied ‘Ecological Economics’ for Environmental Justice Organsations, is a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and is well placed to support SME’s, public bodies and Third Sector organisations in their review, planning and future development.

Much of Richard’s work has been directed at ‘changing behaviour’ – whether of individuals in their daily lives or of organisations in their general practices.
